HR Specialist

We are in search of a motivated and talented individual to join our HR team and start working on all sorts of interesting projects.

People are very important at d.labs and our goals for 2021 and beyond show that HR will continue to be the crucial role in the company. Our current and future hiring needs are high, our people-focused goals are ambitious and what is more, with us restructuring into a remote-first company in early 2020, HR efforts have become even more important. Our team right now consists of the Chief People Officer Katarina and an HR Specialist Nina and now, we are excited to invite another person onto our team!


  • You will focus primarily on recruitment, handling the process from profile definition and candidate sourcing to driving the selection process
  • Improving our candidate sourcing by selecting the best channels and utilising them in the best way
  • Collaborating with our marketing to reach the best candidates and present our company externally in the most authentic way (employer branding)
  • Driving our recruitment processes in order to ensure their speed, efficiency, humanity, authenticity, and most importantly, accuracy of selection
  • Ensuring our candidate selection is done in line with our core principles: culture fit, inclusivity, teamness, no-bullshit communication, etc.
  • Actively collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as tech leads, Katarina and department leads throughout the selection process, ensuring they jump in at the right times
  • Ensuring that all candidates have a great experience going through our recruitment process
  • Caring for collecting and cataloguing candidate information, having a thorough overview of applications and reporting on progress to Katarina and department leads
  • Driving the onboarding process for new hires, making sure they have a great experience and learn about our company rules, guidelines, values, etc.
  • Collaborating in the HR team to design and implement culture events and various initiatives (examples: team buildings, Friday after-work drinks, online events, gifts for coworkers)
  • Researching good HR practices and culture building practices to add or improve on our initiatives
  • Collaborating in the HR team to provide d.labsians a great working experience
  • HR analytics and reporting: preparing reports from data such as our engagement surveys, onboarding surveys, candidates surveys, exit surveys and interviews, in order to learn and improve our HR practices
  • Helping with other HR or Office activities in the absence of coworkers (vacation, sick leave)

‍‍Experience and Skills

  • Concrete experience in recruitment for highly sought-after positions (preferably IT positions; student work applies)
  • Some understanding of tech, tech companies, programming languages and tech positions
  • Knowledge of good practices in HR, modern HR practices
  • Fluent English (written & verbal)
  • Creativity and a lot of self-initiative
  • A learner’s mindset, passion for modern HR practices
  • A sense of ownership & drive for quality of work
  • Approachable, trustworthy, a good listener
  • Great communication & people connection skills, empathy
  • Basic data analysis skills (excel, basic statistics, an affinity for understanding patterns in data)
  • Experience working in a remote team will be an advantage
  • Experience working in a modern tech company or a startup will be an advantage
  • Experience in recruitment of remote IT cadre will be an advantage
  • Experience with caring for organisational culture, event organisation, people development, writing engaging content (eg. social media, articles, blog) and/or org. culture/climate analysis will be an advantage
  • Education in human resources, psychology or similar will be an advantage
  • Ability and willingness to come into the Ljubljana office multiple times a month will be an advantage
